By Giving Counselling to PwD
The District Collector’s office receives job petitions from Differently Abled Persons in considerable numbers every day and in large numbers on GDP days. Periodic job fairs and other recruitment drives may not be sufficient to cater to these regular traffic of job requirements and so do they require a dedicated team to work on the employment creation for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) all through the year.

Keeping this as the driving force, Counselling Centre for Differently-Abled was first launched at Tiruvallur Collectorate and was subsequently inaugurated at Coimbatore and Madurai Collectorates. Apart from guaranteeing a placement of at least Person with Disability in a day, the Counselling Centres also guide and handhold them on their self-employment and skill development.
Around 12.2 crore people had lost their jobs due to Covid-19 pandemic in India read the headlines of newspapers back in Aug 2020. Employment in Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and unorganized sectors faced the worst hit. Many Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) had lost of their jobs during first wave of Covid-19 and many of them were struggling to decipher a way to get themselves re-employed.
